Kindness points to God

I hate / love to watch Extreme Makeover: Home Improvement Edition. Hate that I get so emotional about seeing people do incredible acts of kindness and generosity for those in need. Love that it appears that acts of kindness and generosity seem to be indelible marks that God has placed in every heart. Christians in no way have the corner on doing good things for other people. In fact, sometimes our motives are questioned when we do because we are seen trying to proselytize instead of genuinely caring for others. Just as the mountain ranges point toward God's creative power, acts of kindness point toward God's mercy and love for us. Let us this day see God in the acts of kindness all around us. Let us this day show God's love for people around us. Let us this day give as good as we have gotten. Amen.

I think sometimes we as Christ followers are too worried about getting our message across. That we end up doing more damage than good. It seems to me that if we love our neighbors. At some point they will get curious about why we do the things we do. Then we are in a better position to share our hope with them.

On a different note: If you like the Divine Conspiracy. I recommend 'Hearing God'.
