Matthew 5-7: Sermon on the Mount
One of the five Jesus' public teachings recorded in the Gospels. It is the longest of the five and the most well known. Some similarities exist between many of the discourses which leads me to believe that Jesus may have had a "stump" sermon with certain messages he wanted to consistently share with the masses.
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, spent a great deal of time reading, preaching and writing on the Sermon on the Mount. He felt that it was one of the cornerstones of learning for followers of Christ.
The reason I bring this up is that I use this as a regular part of my devotions. First, it describes a beautiful representation of the Christian life. It's instruction is practical and pointed. Secondly, IT IS JESUS' SERMON. I can't think of time better spent than at Christ's feet listening to what he has to say.

You are right about the Jesus sermon. It is a good place to go. My question, not just to you, but to many more is this... are we only listening to the words, or are we doing what they say? It may be the difference between the head and the heart, but it is more about obedience than anything else. Good blogging by the way, I'm impressed big brother.
I agree about doing versus simply listening. I found a good blog piece that speaks to this very topic and pasted a link on the main site. Thanks for the insights.
