Unleashing Power and Potential YES! Leadership is about not simply doing something, or getting someone else to do something, but it is investing in others so that they grow into the person they were created to be. Bad english, but you get the point. The true test in leadership happens when the leader is not longer around. Do things fall apart? Does the project stop? Does the church take a huge step backward? Leadership is more than influence, although this is a part of it. Leadership is more than vision, although this is a part of it. Leadership is more than execution, although this too is a part of it. It is helping others to grow and use their giftedness in ways that helps humanity. In my context, leadership is helping others to grow and use their giftendness in ways that builds God's kingdom on earth. It takes vision, it takes influence (in the most positive aspects), and it takes attention to execution.
