Do or Do Not

The Lessons of T Shirts to Marketers - Blog Maverick I am not advocating for Mark Cuban's blog, but he does makes a good point at the above link. Many times our actions show our REAL attitude toward something. The adage goes that we only truly believe what we are willing to act upon. Let's take it a step farther. We only truly believe what we are willing to risk something for. This is an interesting measuring stick for our spiritual lives. We say that we believe many things, but do we? If we do not act upon our beliefs, are they? Thanks Mark (both of you) for the insights.

I'm preparing for a Study on James. I'm handwriting the letter to distribute to the class participants. When I hit this passage:

James 2:17-18.
17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

I stopped writing and thought about it for a long time. Now your blog is reinforcing the same idea. We are called "to do" by our faith. I'm not sure what God has in store for me in the "doing" but he has gotten my attention.

Thanks for the update Scott. Faith and works seem to be a fine line we walk. Too far one way and we begin to try and earn God's favor. Too far the other and we are useless for the Kingdom.

BTW, love the pics on your site. I really like the watch and the scale shots. The kids are pretty cute too!
